Organisation

History

The eXtreme Tuesday Club, XTC, was founded in 1999 and meets every week in a London pub to discuss XP and agile software development over a few beers. Anyone interested is welcome to come along and join us on a Tuesday evening, we have a wiki site where you can find all the details. In 2001 BCS OOPS helped us to organise our first XPDay01 which was a sell out. Martin Fowler provided our keynote and Kent Beck, the founder of XP, surprised everyone by dropping in on the day unannounced. Inspired by XPDay01, XTC formed a non-profit association to organise XPDay events. Proceeds are used to fund further events, with the aim of providing opportunities to learn from experience of XP and agile software development and building a support network for XPers and Agile practitioners.
